Dear 4/5 All Shook Up Cast and Parents,
Rehearsal Follow up! May 6, 2020
Great Rehearsal Today!
Reminder for next week:
Come on Every Body - (this is a rehearsal filming)
Please find a quiet spot - with a blank wall space behind you - but with enough room to move and dance for next week's rehearsal - we will film on Zoom
Please come to rehearsal with your character name set, so we are not filming your real name.
Also, if you have a costume ready for May 13 - wear it. If you do not! IT IS OK!!!
Please record your vocals for Come on Everybody on your device, I have attached directions for each device. It is called Vocal recordings.
Only sing your parts. Thanks! Please do this by next Wed, (May 13)
I introduced the the ballad "It's Now or Never" - which happens in Scene 6. Dean is torn between staying with Lorraine or leaving on the bus back to school.
This song is sung by all fifth graders, 6th graders, Megan and Caden.
Megan and Laura have solos
The featured Ensemble is: Alex, Westin, Mahima, Izzie, Janu, Regan, Angelo, Soso
Group 1: Sylvana, Vivie, Laura, Megan, Caden Westin, Mahima, Alex
Group 2: Izzie, Janu, Regan, Angelo, Soso
I would like for you all to sing.
HOWEVER, I understand that you may not feel comfortable singing a ballad, that for some was the first time they heard it. It was always a fifth grade scene - we just never got to it when we were at school before COVID-19. So, I understand!
I would still like for all of you to be in the scene and act. You are all on a bus heading out of town, You can have a suitcase or a newspaper - will work on ideas for this scene next week. You will still have to pretend you are singing... wink, wink.... This is what a virtual show allows us to do!!!! I should have enough voices to make it work for us ALL!
Last, we discussed sending in your 1950's facts. I have attached the script. Each of you have two facts to recite. Please record this as a vocal dramatic recording. Space them out, do not do them right after the other.
Thank you for working hard and having fun! See you Friday during our 90 minute - virtual school.
Parents, if you have any questions- please email me!
